Bikes of Preston: GT Karakoram

I’ve decided to start a new thing on Deaf Pigeon which is posting pictures of peoples bikes in Preston. Today was one of those times that i wish i had my DSLR on me, so you’ll have to settle for awful iPhone photos i’m afraid.

Me and Rob went for a little ride down to our BMX track for a play this afternoon and we both spied this bike riding towards us. Triple Triangle, awesome paint and all original… It was a beauty and here it is… A GT Karakoram from 1990… stunner!

We got to talking with the guy who owned it who explained to us that he’s had it since new when he was 16, all those 22 years ago! It’s not even been ridden that much, so little in fact that it’s still got the original front tyre and it wasn’t even perished! Check out that steam paint aswell… cooler than cool. I really loved this bike and i hope that i can post some more soon.

    It’s awesome! The dude who owned it quite obviously loved it, but didn’t realise that it oozed cool. He was a bit shocked when we started talking to him about it :D

    Thanks for bringing the bike out, i’m glad we were there at the right time :) It definitely deserves looking after. It’s in such good knick, it’s worth keeping it that way.

    That Campag coffee tamper is awesome, i really might have to get one… just another bike related accessory that i NEED ha ha
